➔ Between the islands of Ikaria and Leros lies the island of Patmos. Every summer it welcomes international tourists and cruise ships and is one of the most popular islands in the Dodecanese archipelago. 

The capital and main port of the island is Skala, a town where St John the Evangelist was exiled and where he wrote the last book of the Holy Bible. Today the island is a major destination for believers from all over the world.

A must-see is the medieval village of Chora, situated on a hilltop, where you can explore the Monastery of St John and spend the day strolling through the town centre filled with souvenir stalls, shops and bars. Spend the day relaxing on the beaches: Lambi and Petra are a pleasant short walk through Mediterranean vegetation.

➔ Facing Turkey, you will discover the beautiful island of Lesvos. Thanks to its volcanic origins, you can spend a relaxing day in one of the many hot springs. The island's capital is Mytilini, a bustling village where you'll find a delightful Genoese castle and, at its foot, houses clinging to the hillside.

Other places to visit include the Roman aqueduct of Moria and the village of Agiassos, nestled in the greenery of Mount Olimbos.  The beaches are all over the island, take a dip in Kampos, the big one, or Skala Kolonis and Agios Ioannis, near the hot springs! If you want to have fun, there are plenty of pubs and discos in the main town, where you can dance and drink until dawn!

HERE IS A TIP: if you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!
