Lipari is an island of volcanic origin, the largest of the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, opposite the northern coast of Sicily. "Lipara" was its original name, which in ancient Greek meant rich and fertile land.

The island attracts thousands of tourists every year who choose this small paradise rich in lush nature and unspoiled sea during the summer; a place where relaxation, culinary traditions and a lively nightlife mix perfectly.

There are many places of interest that are definitely worth a visit, including the square "Marina Corta" and the Castle of Lipari, which houses a splendid archaeological museum, the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo, the remains of the Norman monastery of Santissimo Salvatore and the beautiful road "Marina Lunga" that leads to the hamlet of Canneto. Lipari is also home to the Terme di San Calogero, considered one of the oldest thermal centers in the Mediterranean.

Connections to Filicudi are offered all year round with the other islands of the archipelago and the port of Milazzo, while in the middle and high season it is possible to reach the island from the ports of Palermo, Messina, Reggio Calabria, Vibo Valentia and Naples Mergellina.

The hydrofoil trips are quite short and the departures are always during the day. On board the hydrofoils to Filicudi, passengers have at their disposal a comfortable air-conditioned salon with plenty of seats, toilets and sometimes a small snack bar.
