🏝️ What to see in Kavala and Samos (Vathy)?
➜ Kavala is situated between the mountains and the sea, between East and West. This duality of character has made it the hub of international trade.
The most significant mountain is Mount Pangeo, where the Monastery of Panagia was erected. The church of Nea Karvali, a place of Orthodox devotion where the relics of St. Gregory are kept, is also worth a visit.
Near the city there are many beautiful beaches, both sandy and pebbly, as well as lakes and rivers.
You can visit Pefkari, where you can spend a relaxing holiday, or Vrasidas, where the water is so shallow that you can enjoy a long swim.
➜ The fascinating Samos Vathy is the island's capital and most lively and bustling city, Vathy is built in a beautiful naturally bay formed as amphitheatre structure.
The village is famous for one of its inhabitants, Pythagoras, who was born here!
It is also the main town of the island, with his crystal clear sea, sheltered by the surrounding hills.
We suggest a visit to the neighbourhood of Ano Vathi, situated on the top of the hill, where you can enjoy the beauty of the Archaeological Museum.
Do not miss the untouched, wild and green beaches:
The best known are Klima and Kerveli, immersed in the turquoise sea and surrounded by pine forests, soak up the atmosphere!
HERE IS A TIP: if you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!
