Ferries to Spain All the ferry companies on Mr Ferry!

Spain is one of the most important countries in Europe and certainly one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Located at the western end of the continent, it borders the Mediterranean Sea to the southeast and the Atlantic Ocean to the northwest. This has always placed it in a strategic position for maritime traffic, and its history is undeniably linked to this factor.

While the sea once offered great opportunities for exploration and the conquest of new territories, today Spain exploits its nearly 5,000 kilometers of coastline for cargo and passenger traffic, as well as for tourism of its beautiful beaches and ancient coastal towns.

The easternmost part of the Mediterranean coast is home to two of the busiest resorts in mainland Spain: Barcelona, capital of Catalonia, and Valencia, capital of the Valencian Community. From both cities, as well as from Denia, ferries leave daily for the Balearic archipelago. This area is known worldwide for its youthful nightlife and cultural fervor.

At the southern end of the peninsula is Andalusia, whose location on the Strait of Gibraltar and proximity to North Africa have always made it a crossroads of different cultures and gifted it with unmistakable sights, sounds and smells. The North African Spanish exclaves of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as several ports in Morocco and Algeria, can be reached in a short time from these shores. From the cities of Cadiz and Huelva you can depart for the Canary islands.

Spain's Atlantic coast faces the Bay of Biscay and offers the best of the country's nature, landscape and gastronomy. From Galicia, with its National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia, to the Basque Country, with its coastline perfect for surfing, this area can also be reached by sea from England.

If your idea is to visit this wonderful country, especially by car or RV, your best bet is to book a ferry!

Ferries to Spain Connections and travel options

On all routes to Spain, the shipping companies provide large ferries with the best onboard amenities and services. For overnight and longer trips, all types of seats and cabins are available. Garages are very spacious and can accommodate all types of vehicles, but for popular routes availability is often limited. For this reason, we always recommend that you make reservations well in advance, especially in high season and if you are traveling with your own vehicle.

On longer crossings, especially in summer, in addition to basic bar and restaurant services, companies offer entertainment, from children's play areas to casinos and cinemas, swimming pools and lounge areas.

For your pets, most ships sailing to Spain offer the option of pet-friendly cabins. Where possible, you will find this option on our website. If not, you can always reserve a place in a kennel or stay with them during the crossing on the outside decks and in the permitted areas with a leash or carrier. Remember that in addition to a European passport, a rabies vaccination is required to enter Spain.

🚢 The companies that operate departures to Spain from abroad are: GNV and Grimaldi Lines from Italy, Brittany ferries. from Great Britain and  AML, Balearia and Naviera Armas from North Africa. The Spanish mainlad is connected to the Balearic Islands thanks to GNV, Balearia and Trasmed and to the Canary Islands by  Fred. Olsen Express and Naviera Armas.
