Vlora were founded in the 6th century BC, it were an ancient city of historical importance to Albania as it hosted the first National Assembly, which declared the country's independence from Ottoman rule on November 28, 1912.

You find the monuments on Ismail Qemali Avenue, an avenue surrounded by trees, leading you directly to the sea. You can visit one of the landmarks of the revolution, in the central square you find the famous Independence Monument, built to pay tribute to the fallen, who fought for freedom. The Muradije Mosque, located in the center of the city and built in the Turkish-Byzantine style, still looks majestic as a living testament to its former splendor. Kuzum Baba is the highest point of the city, a hill overlooking the eastern part of the city where visitors can enjoy the view.

The Gulf of Vlora is the largest in all of Albania, you find beaches for all tastes, with fine sand surrounded by the rich vegetation of pine forests.
