When travelling to Formentera you'll arrive at the western end of the island - La Savina, a must for all visitors, as all ferry from Ibiza, Barcelona and the island of Mallorca dock here.

This port extends from the Estany des Peix and ends at Sa Sequi. Over the years, it became a key point for the export of the harvested salt and various infrastructures were developed to facilitate its transport. Nowadays, all these facilities are used for tourist activity and the port has become the main source of sustenance for the whole island. 

🚢 Formetentera is reached via sea from thousands of tourist from all over the world! If you are leaving from the neighboring island of Ibiza you will depart from the port of Elvissa. This ferry crossing lats 30 minutes and it is managed by the ferry companies:

If you are in Ibiza and want to travel on an alternative route you can leave from the beaches of Figueretas or Playa d'en Bossa on board the ferries of Ibiza Sea Cruises and Aquabus. This connectios last less than 1 hour! 

This paradisiacal island can also be reached from the port of Palma de Mallorca in just 3 hours and 30 minutes thanks to the Balearia ferry company. 

Travelling from Spain to Formetera?

The port of Formentera is connected to the Spanish mainland ports of Barcelona and Denia by Balearia in just 2 hours of navigation.

The Formentera ferry terminal at the Savina port is modern and has many services such as cafeterias, information desks, restrooms, a parking lot outside the terminal and a beautiful  promenade that runs alongside the port. There are several bars and restaurants where you can have a drink and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the port.

HERE IS A TIP: If you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!

  • Cala Saona is a favorite beach for families traveling to Formentera this beach stands out because from its pine forest you can candidly see the coast of Ibiza and its hills.
