Ferries to RovinjPort connections and services

The Port of Rovinj is one of Croatia's busiest in northern Dalmatia and plays a key role in the city's economy through cargo and tourist traffic. Called the “Croatian Venice,” Rovinj is located on a rocky cliff south of the Lim Channel between Porec and Pula, two other Croatian cities.

The port area hosts considerable passenger and commercial traffic, providing through hydrofoils and ferries an excellent connection service. In addition, the port area enjoys an excellent organizational plan of embarkation and disembarkation activities.

The port is developed in areas dedicated and equipped for the reception of ferries and private vessels. In fact, the port reality is characterized by the polyvalence of services offered.

The ferry terminal to and from Rovinj is equipped with all facilities and services. Passengers in transit will find numerous bars and restaurants, stores, parking, and accommodation facilities nearby. Departures from Rovinj to Trieste, Cesenatico and Venice are made in the summer months by the Righetti Navi and Venezia Lines shipping companies. Fast connections between Rovinj and Piran are operated by Liberty Lines during the high season.

The city belonged to Italy until 1947, so it is common to find Italian traces in the culture and gastronomy. The port of Rovinj is sheltered from the Bora wind by a natural barrier, the islet of St. Catherine, which protects its coastline. As a result, Rovinj has been an important and strategic port for centuries.

The seaport area is located close to the town center, the area offers ferry passengers pleasant entertainment areas such as comfortable waiting rooms, snack bars, cozy restaurants and internet cafés.  The proximity to the built-up area provides passengers with car, scooter, and bicycle rental services, as well as the opportunity to use public services that provide connections between the port, the city, and its suburbs.

Roviji ferries About Rovinj

Rovinj is a popular destination for tourists, not only for its natural beauty, but also for the variety and high quality of services and entertainment options.

Start your discovery of Rovinj from the old town with its narrow, winding streets. Three of the seven gates are still preserved in the city walls. On Ulica Grisia street you will find local artists selling their paintings or portraits, perfect for a souvenir gift.

Continuing along this cobblestone street, you reach the Church of St. Euphemia. It is the most important monument in Rovinj. Located on the highest point of the peninsula, the church boasts a 60-meter-high bell tower, reminiscent of St. Mark's in Venice, topped by a statue of St. Euphemia that rotates on itself like a weathervane.

Another Rovinj curiosity not to be missed is the town clock with its Venetian lion dating back to the 19ᵉ century.

Also take time to visit the eco-museum of the House of “Batanas.” Here you can see a permanent exhibit dedicated to batanas. These are the traditional flat-bottomed boats typical of the region.

After visiting the city's many museums and monuments, a pleasant walk along the coast to the “Punta Corrente” nature forest park on foot or by bicycle.

Rovinj offers a wide variety of beaches, coves, and bays for your beach vacation.
