Ferries to Playa de Santiago Port connections and services

When you're traveling to and from La Gomera you will likely stop in Playa de Santiago, a town in the far south of the island, part of the municipality of Alajeró and the province of SC de Tenerife. This is one of the wildest islands of the beautiful Canary Islands, which offer a variety of breathtaking landscapes that attract millions of tourists every year with its unspoiled and wild nature hosts beautiful sand dunes, lush vegetation, rugged cliffs, endless beaches and a marine environment rich in local flora and fauna.

Initially established as a small fishing and farming village, it was abandoned around the 1960s-70s, only to be rediscovered as a tourist resort. In recent years there has been a lot of investment in the area, and the shipping company Fred. Olsen, which, in addition to restoring the port's operations, has financed the construction of a hotel complex and La Gomera's only golf course.

Playa de Santiago, is one of the most important tourist centers on the island, located in Alajerò in the south of the island. The town is divided into two different urban centers: Lomada de Tecina and Laguna de Santiago, where most of the hotels are concentrated, stretches alongside a fishing village.

The small harbour is connected to the port of Valle Gran Rey, which has some of La Gomera's most famous beaches: fine black sandy shores lapped by azure waters. Some perfect for diving like Puntilla beach and others more suitable for surfing like Charco beach

🚢 Fred Olsen Express provides daily connections from Playa Santiago to San Sebastian de La Gomera, lasting 30 minutes, and to Valle Gran Rey, lasting 40 minutes. These ferries will allow you to reach other coastal resorts in La Gomera in less time than it takes to drive along the island's winding roads.

Morro Playa de Santiago Playa de Santiago

Playa de Santiago, although an exclusively tourist resort, is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Canary Islands' most popular destinations. It is a small, cozy town, where there is a relaxed atmosphere, a mild, sunny climate year-round, and allows all services to be close at hand.

The beach that gives the town its name is one of the largest in La Gomera. Bathed by calm waters, it is one of the largest beaches on La Gomera. Due to the clarity of its waters and the variety of its seabed, Playa Santiago is renowned for diving and water sports such as snorkeling and kayaking.

➜ The slopes surrounding the area offer breathtaking landscapes overlooking the sea, and many trekking routes of varying difficulty can be taken here. Part of the municipality of Alajeró is also in the Parque Nacional de Garajonay, where lush green forests, steep gorges and numerous streams transform the landscape within a few kilometers.

This small, cozy coastal town, where you can stroll along the waterfront, enjoy wonderful sunsets on one of its terraces and sample delicious local cuisine! Playa de Santiago is the most touristy village on the entire island; here you will find many stores perfect for a day of shopping.
On the other hand, if you spend your day at the beach, don't miss the chiringuitos perfect for enjoying light snacks by the sea.

Come to Playa de Santiago and enjoy few days of pure relax! Check out prices and promotions on Mr Ferry and book your tikets haead of time!
