The town of Pembroke is situated in West Wales and is the county seat of Pembrokeshire. Its name derives from the Welsh words pen (end, head) and bro (land, region) and it means “end of the earth”.
The port of Pembroke, located on the estuary of the Cleddau River, was built in 1814 and is less than 5 km north-west of the city, in the area known as Pembroke Dock.
From here, it is possible to depart with the ferry company Irish Ferries. The company runs crossings from Pembroke to Rosslare and from Rosslare to Pembroke throughout the year, twice every day. The Pembroke Rosslare crossing lasts 4 hours. It is a great way to reach Ireland, as you can travel with your vehicle and there is no luggage limit!
