When you're traveling to and from Fuerteventura you will likely stop in Morro Jable, a town in the far south of the island, one of the wildest islands of the beautiful Canary Islands. The town is located on the eastern coast of the Jandia Peninsula, an area that has become a well-known natural park and is visited by many tourists throughout the year.
Morro Jable started out as a fishing port, but with the advent of tourism in the 1970s, the function of its port became purely touristic; today, the port of Morro Jable is an important marina with over 290 berths for private boats and regular berths for passenger ships and vehicles.
The Naviera Armas and Fred Olsen shipping companies offer daily ferries to Morro Jable from Las Palmas, one of Gran Canaria's main tourist destinations. From Santa Cruz de Tenerife, only Naviera Armas operates ferries to Morro Jable; this service is also offered all year round and is quite frequent.
The port of Morro Jable is about 20 minutes walk from the center of town. Nearby there are various services such as parking, car and scooter rentals, gas stations, hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants.
