Ferries to HärnösandMini Cruise to Härnösand

Want to explore northern Sweden and the incredible Höga kusten region? Book a mini cruise to Härnösand and embark on a unique holiday!

Härnösand is a small town with an interesting history: it was the first Swedish town to be equipped with electricity. Today, it is best known for being the gateway to the Höga kusten, literally the 'high coast', a very special and picturesque geographical region.

The port of Härnösand does not receive passenger ferries, it is mainly a transit port for fishing boats and small and medium-sized vessels. However, thanks to its strategic location within an area of incredible natural beauty, it is an ideal destination for cruises departing from Stockholm.

Viking Line offers a series of mini-cruises that take advantage of the long days of the summer months to take you on a discovery journey of this beautiful region. There is one departure in April, two in May, two in June and four in September. The itinerary is pre-arranged and the whole trip must be booked; it is not possible to board in Härnösand. Pets are not allowed on this trip.

Härnösand ferries About Härnösand

Treat yourself to a mini-cruise to Härnösand, an all-Nordic experience discovering new destinations!

Departure from Stockholm is in the late afternoon. You will sail all night, sleeping comfortably in your cabin and enjoying the many services on board. You can eat in the restaurant, attend events organised by the staff or relax in the on-board spa. You will arrive in Härnösand the next morning and have the chance to get off the ship and explore the surroundings, either on your own or with one of the organised tours. At around 3pm you will set sail back to Stockholm and, during the crossing, you will have the chance to see the main attractions in the area. Here are some of them:

→ the Sannasund Strait and the islands of Hemsön and Lungön, opposite the port of Härnösand. These small islands are characterised by their wooden houses surrounded by greenery.

→ the ferry goes into the heart of the archipelago and passes by the Höga Kusten bridge, which, with its 1867 metres lenght, is the third longest suspension bridge in Scandinavia.

→ heading north, you will see Ulvön, an island historically associated with fishing and herring processing. You can admire the old fishing villages directly by the sea.

Mjältön, which, at 236 metres above sea level, is the highest island in Sweden.

→ further north, the ship sails past the Skuleskogen National Park with its long sandy beaches surrounded by green forests.

→ before turning and heading back to the capital, you will see the island of Trysundaön, the ideal summer destination for lovers of the sea and the outdoors.

→ the archipelago tour ends around 7 p.m. You will sail all night and arrive in Stockholm the following day at 2 p.m.
