Ferries to GedserPort connections and services

The city of Gedser is located in the region of Zealand on the Baltic Sea and is the southernmost city in Denmark.

Gedser, a lively port town, is an important port of call for ferries connecting it with Germany, in particular with the city of Rostock.

Ferry sailings to and from Gedser are carried out exclusively by the ferry company Scandlines, which, with its modern, state-of-the-art fleet, serves the Gedser Rostock route throughout the year, making up to 10 trips per day.

The sailing time of the Gedser ferries is approximately 2 hours and is therefore the fastest way to travel between the two northern European countries. On board you will find various facilities to make the crossing more pleasant, such as bars, restaurants and tax-free shops. On this route it is compulsory to include a vehicle in the booking, foot passengers must purchase their ticket directly at the port.

The Gedser ferry terminal is located south of the city and has a waiting room, toilets for passengers in transit and Wi-Fi. Other services such as restaurants, hotels, car parks, pharmacies and ATMs can be easily reached in about 5 minutes by car.

The island of Falster, on which Gedser is located, is characterised by long, light sandy beaches, typical of the Danish coastline. The closest is Gedesby beach, ideal for sunbathing and swimming; the beach is also very picturesque in winter, when the snow covers the entire seafront with white.❄

On Falster Island is Denmark's southernmost point, Gedser Odde, marked by the Sydstenen stone. The entire surrounding area is perfect for those who enjoy long walks, thanks to the many flat paths in an idyllic landscape. Don't forget a visit to Fiskebæk, an area populated since the Neolithic period, where several megalithic remains can be found.

Don't just stop in Gedser, visit the rest of Zealand as well! A natural wonder not to be missed is Møns Klint: sheer white cliffs are reflected in a sea so transparent that it has earned the name 'Caribbean Sea of the North'.
