Located in the southernmost part of Denmark, the port of Gedser has direct access to the Baltic Sea and is surrounded by beautiful countryside with views of the Rødsand offshore wind farm, a natural environment that makes it authentic. The port of Gedser was the first landing port for German troops during the occupation of Denmark in 1940.

From the port of Gedser, you can reach the port of Rostock thanks to the Scandilines which operates the Gedser Rostock route the all year round.

Only passengers with vehicles can book a Gedser Rostock ferry. When arriving at the Gedser terminal, you can take advantage of convenient facilities such as an information point, restrooms and a snack and beverage dispenser. Vehicles must then be left in line ready for boarding.

Gedser ferries About Gedser

Gedser is located on the southernmost tip of Denmark, and from here, beautiful cycling and hiking trails along the coast lead to Marielyst, one of the most popular beach resorts on the east coast that offers a variety of activities.

Gedser is a village with several monuments, such as the yellow brick church built in 1915, where you can admire a fresco from 1925. An old prophecy says that when the church is completed, the city will be swept away by the sea. To this day, the church remains incomplete and the stone that would complete the church is still missing.

The Gedser Geological Museum offers an interesting visit to those who wish to see the  world's largest polished garnet the "Nordstjernen" (North Star).

Gedser is located on the island of Falster, famous for its many medieval villages, the 17th century abbey (Klosterkirke) and especially Nykøbing, known as the "Center of the Middle Ages," an open-air museum that reconstructs life in Denmark in the late 14th century. Falster is also known for its marinas, beaches and bike paths. One of the main beach resorts is Marielyst on the east coast.
