The city lies on an island formed by the two canals of the river Lee, that flows into the sea by the village of Ringaskiddy. The sea town is the location of the port of Cork.

The Cork Roscoff ferry connection is operated by the company Brittany Ferries, which provides two departures per week, from March to October. The crossing lasts 15 hours, and is the fastest journey from Ireland to France.

At Cork’s ferry terminal, you can find an information desk, open during the ferry arrival and departure times. There are several facilities like public restrooms, nursery, restrooms for people with impaired mobility. In the port area, in Ringaskiddy centre, there are different bars and pubs where you can get a quick meal. If you want restaurants and hotels, you have to reach Cork, which is 15 kilometres away.

You must check in 60 minutes before departure, 90 minutes if you are travelling with a pet. The port is a 40 minute drive from Cork. The nearest railway station is in Cork. There is no bus service between Cork and the port, only to Ringaskiddy village, a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal.

The ferry terminal offers public toilets, baby changing facilities, facilities for people with impaired mobility, dog areas and short-term parking. There is no long-term parking.
